Who is responsible
qdayiscoming.com is an independent site run from the Netherlands. For anything about your data, email contact@qdayiscoming.com.
In short
- We measure visits with Google Analytics. It uses cookies with a random ID; it does not give us your name or email address.
- We only store your email address if you sign up for updates yourself.
- No accounts, no ads, no social media tracking pixels. We do not sell or share your data.
Visitor statistics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics 4 to see how many people visit, which pages they read, how long they stay, and roughly from which country and on which type of device. Google Analytics sets cookies with a random ID so it can tell visits apart. Google uses your IP address to estimate your country, but Google Analytics does not store it. We cannot see who you are and we do not combine this data with anything else.
The data is processed by Google (Google Ireland Ltd., and Google LLC in the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) and kept for at most 14 months. We use it because we have a legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used. Don't want this? Use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or block cookies in your browser. The site keeps working.
Cookies and local storage
- _ga and _ga_… (Google Analytics): a random ID to tell visits apart. Kept for up to 2 years.
- qd_poll (our own): only set when you vote on the statement of the month, so the same browser cannot vote twice. It contains which statements you voted on and nothing else. Kept for up to 400 days.
- Local storage in your browser, which is never sent to us: whether you closed or used the newsletter window, and your own vote, so the site remembers them on your next visit.
Statement of the month
Votes are anonymous: we only store the totals per statement. To prevent abuse, the number of votes per internet connection is briefly limited. For that, a scrambled version of your IP address is kept in memory for at most one hour and is never stored.
Newsletter
If you sign up for updates, we store your email address, the language of the page you signed up on, and when you signed up and confirmed (proof that you asked for it). Nothing else. We use MailerLite, an EU company, to store the list and send the emails; the data stays in the EU.
Signing up uses double opt-in: you receive a confirmation email and are only added to the list once you click the link in it. You will not receive anything before that. The basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
How to unsubscribe: every email we send contains an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click is enough, no account and no explanation needed. You can also email contact@qdayiscoming.com and we will remove you. We keep your address until you unsubscribe.
Hosting and technical data
The site is hosted by Netlify (United States). Like any web server, Netlify processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the pages and keep the site secure; we do not use that data ourselves. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which also receives your IP address when it delivers them.
If you email us
We only use your email to reply to you.
Your rights
You can ask which data we hold about you and have it corrected or deleted, and you can object to the visitor statistics. Email contact@qdayiscoming.com; we reply within a month. Not satisfied with our answer? You can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or to the data protection authority in your own country.
Changes
If the way we handle data changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
